Wow!! What a wonderful Christmas break we had. It was so nice to spend time with my hubby and children. We played, we laughed, and we even cried :) Now back to reality and survival. But I know we will survive!
We took the kids bowling for the first time. I think everyone loved it. I lost. I'm not so good :) D was excited to go. He has always wanted to go bowling. Too bad it costs so much. He suggested that some day when we build a house we should put a bowling lane in the basement. That might be fun, huh?
So the crying story is quite funny. Every year on Christmas Eve, B has told the kids that they couldn't go to sleep. That we had to try and stay up to catch Santa. Reverse Physiology right? Well this year he did the same thing. Only the kids had been up late for a few nights in a row watching movies and enjoying themselves, so I think they were getting pretty tired. A wanted to go to bed so badly. B told her no, that she had to stay awake and she broke down in tears. "Dad, your ruining everything!! Santa can't come if we are awake!!" It was quite funny to watch. Of course she didn't find it funny at all. She was quite mad at her Daddy. We calmed her down and stuck in a movie. It totally backfired this year when it was 11 o'clock and D and A were still awake. This Santa was very tired when we got done. :)
Everyone loved their Christmas gifts. Only a few goof ups. We bought a DS game online for D. It ended up being in Spanish only, so off to Wal-Mart the next day to find the right version. And the magical golden ninja C wanted will come today. Santa left a note saying the elves couldn't catch the golden ninja to put into the box, so Santa would drop it off when the elves caught the ninja. C's reply..."It doesn't need to be in a box." So much for a fun story :) When it comes today I will wrap it and leave it on the couch tonight.
T got a kids kitchen and pans and a baby doll that she hasn't stopped playing with. A got everything on her list as well, so even with the melt down on Christmas Eve. Everyone was happy.
We traveled for New Years this year and I have yet to unpack. Unpacking is just not fun. But it was fun to spend time with extended family. I really miss not living close by. I know my kids miss it too. Maybe someday we can move back home. Because no matter where we go, it will always be Home.
